From the very beginning, the company has embraced the core values of environmental protection, health, and sharing as its guiding principles.
During its first decade, the business continued to follow the traditional dry-cleaning practices commonly used in the industry, primarily relying on petroleum-based solvents—commonly known as “dry cleaning.”
At the start of his entrepreneurial journey, David leveraged innovative internet technologies to attract a loyal customer base.
He personally handled each garment entrusted by customers, striving for the highest level of quality and service.
His dedication quickly earned widespread word-of-mouth recognition, and the business has continued to grow steadily ever since.
In the early stages of the business, it became evident that many garments brought in by customers were not thoroughly cleaned, even after going through the dry-cleaning process.
Stains often remained, the clothes lacked a fresh feel, and a lingering odor of petroleum-based solvents was commonly present—resulting in inconsistent cleaning quality.
The laundry facility itself was frequently filled with a strong chemical smell.
At the same time, I began to notice serious issues with my own health—yellowish skin tone, constant fatigue, and various signs of suboptimal well-being.
This led me to reflect deeply: Why was I sacrificing my health just as my carefully built laundry business was beginning to show promise?
Instead of bringing joy and a sense of accomplishment to my family, this so-called success only brought worry and concern to everyone around me.

It was eventually discovered that the root of the problem lay in prolonged exposure to volatile solvents and petrochemical-based detergents. The harmful components in these substances had taken a toll on my health.
To resolve these issues, it was necessary to fundamentally change both the concept and method of laundering. For the sake of my own health, my family’s well-being, and the rights of loyal customers, I decisively removed all solvent dry-cleaning machines and petrochemical-based products from the store.
In 2005, I, David Lü, began exploring the possibility of transitioning entirely to water-based cleaning methods. After years of persistence and effort, I found that almost all types of clothing—even high-end designer garments—could be safely and effectively washed with water. This approach not only replaced traditional petroleum-based dry cleaning but also proved to be healthier and more environmentally friendly. Thus, the method was named “Water-Based Healthy Cleaning.”
In 2008, the range of services expanded to include cleaning for designer handbags and branded shoes. By 2012, the water-based healthy cleaning model was fully promoted.
Cleaning luxury items like branded clothes, bags, and shoes is especially challenging due to their high prices, unique materials, and fashionable designs. To ensure premium service and results, YOUNGER continuously invested in researching and improving cleaning techniques specifically for designer items.
Today, YOUNGER is recognized in the industry as a leading advocate of water-based healthy cleaning and as one of the top-performing laundries. With specialized expertise and extensive experience in caring for luxury apparel and accessories, YOUNGER has developed a team of skilled professionals committed to providing the highest level of service, earning the trust and support of a growing customer base.
In fact, most contaminants found on worn clothing and household textiles are water-soluble or the result of deep oxidation. Traditional solvent dry cleaning often falls short in achieving true cleanliness. This realization led David to fully dedicate himself to developing the most natural, safe, and effective water-based laundry system.
From a complete novice to a hands-on expert in the laundry industry, David has poured countless hours, energy, and financial resources into refining safer, more effective, and scientifically advanced water-based cleaning technology. He also founded Yi Ming Green Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in Taiwan, dedicated to product development and technical innovation. Through learning from industry veterans and experts, studying global trends, and conducting continuous trials, David successfully developed a range of safe, non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products. He also established a simple, teachable, and scientific cleaning method that today forms the basis of a smart, multi-program, automated water-based laundry system.
In 2016, David met Mr. Li Wen-Hao, a seasoned Taiwanese laundry industry expert based in Shanghai. They shared many common views on laundry techniques and together embraced a shared philosophy: SAFE, NON-TOXIC, EASY, and EFFECTIVE.
The two often discussed the future of the laundry industry, combining their expertise and experiences to generate new and innovative ideas. Together, they launched several collaborative ventures across mainland China, integrating resources and enhancing service quality—efforts that were widely recognized by customers and peers alike. Their innovations not only won praise but also paved a clear path for newcomers interested in starting a laundry business.
In early 2020, faced with the impact of the pandemic, the two became even more committed to researching future business models. They decided to jointly launch a new chain brand in Taiwan. After more than a year of planning and business model development, YOUNGER LOHAS Company Limited was officially established in spring 2021. The standard model for the YOUNGER LOHAS shared-service store was finalized, and the flagship store was scheduled to open in August 2021.
Moving forward, the YOUNGER team will continue working closely together, forming strong partnerships with like-minded allies, and collectively contributing to the advancement of the Chinese-speaking world’s laundry industry—with a shared vision of achieving a healthy, joyful lifestyle and sustainable business goals.
